We are looking for talented, passionate and dedicated Tour Guides to work with us in Bergen.
You may have friends, friends of friends or family members who would make great Guides. We offer all the necessary training and tools they would need to work with us.
For each candidate that you refer, who becomes a certified Guide and delivers 300 guiding hours with us in 2023, you will receive 2000 NOK (before tax).
Candidates who speak English with another language are most likely to be invited to join our Guide Team.

Terms and conditions
For Guide Referrers
- 2000 NOK per successful candidate (before tax)
- A successful candidate is someone who reaches 300 guiding hours with us in 2023
- Calculation of summed guiding hours before the 1st of December 2023
- The candidate cannot have worked previously for Norwegian Guide Service
- If a candidate has independently applied to become a Guide with us, they cannot then reapply to be included in the referral scheme
- Unlimited number of referrals per referrer
- If a successful candidate is referred by more than one person, the 2000 NOK payout is awarded to the first referrer who submits the successful candidate to us
- It is the responsibility of the referrer to inform us of the candidates that they have referred (or make sure candidate informs us when applying)
- Referrers can be past or current Guides of Norwegian Guide Service or our sister agencies
- Referrers cannot be office employees of Norwegian Guide Service or our sister agencies
- Referrers must supply their contact and payment details
- Referrers must have obtained the permission of the candidate to be contacted by Norwegian Guide Service AS
- Payout is classed as taxable income
- Payout time frame is within 1-2 months of success target being reached
- Referrers will be contacted in advance of the payout
Referral process
- 1. Read about our Guide positions and recruitment process
- 2. Register as a "Guide referrer" and start immediately
- 3. Refer your interested candidate/s to apply via our website
- 4. Your candidate names you in their application form
- 5. Your candidate completes our recruitment process
- 6. Your candidate becomes a certified guide and works with us
- 7. You will be kept up-to-date with the progress of your candidate/s
- 8. Once your candidate reaches the target, we will contact you for payout details
Please be aware that we only recruit Guides who are already eligible to live and work in Norway.
